Southport Chapel Street signal box
The Westinghouse Brake & Saxby Signal Co. Ltd. Style 'B' lever frame, and track diagram, with conventional block instruments were provided on top of the lever frame box. Bell plungers are provided next to adjacent signal boxes, again mounted on the block shelf block instruments, with kind permission of © David A, Ingham, 3rd July 1987.

Southport Chapel Street to Wigan LineSt. Lukes box became the adjacent box in 1918. St. Lukes box was closed on 30th November 1969 when Bescar Lane box (4m 372yds away) became the adjacent box. Bescar Lane box was closed on 9th May 1993 and Burscough Bridge Junction box (7m 1014yds away) became the adjacent box.
Southport Chapel Street to Liverpool line {Up / down Birkdale}
The Up & Down Birdale lines are located in the lower part of the track drawing,
Southport South box was the original adjacent signal box (257yds away) until closed on 4th December 1996 Birkdale box became the next adjacent box (1687yds away) until closed on 11 March 1994. Merseyrail IECC became the adjacent box until Southport Chapel Street box closed on 20th March 1994.
