Ely Dock Junction signal box lever frame
Ely Dock Junction signal box with its Style 'L' Westinghouse Brake & Signal Co. Ltd. power lever frame, is located at a private location in North Herts. This signal box, made from parts recovered from East Anglian signal boxes, houses a 35 lever section of the former Crewe South signal box lever frame. It is used as part of a simulation of the whole Ely area. Ely Station North and Ely North Junction have been working since the mid 90's.

The following pictures show the arrival of the lever frame and the creation of the new Ely Dock Junction signal box
Assemble the lever frame bits bit to see what fits! and hey presto it looks like the indicator panel start at Crewe South lever 31.! The frame is a Westinghouse Style 'L' Power Frame which is all electrically locked. The frame is formed of 3 x 12 way section which making a total of {2x12}-1 = 35 levers, as the last “lever” space is unavailable.
Here is the start of building of the signal box which is being built around the lever frame
Pictured above is two good views of the new Ely dock Junction signal box looking at each end.

Relay Room - December 2006
Ely Dock was opened using a 'lash up' of relays behind the frame. The up and
down mains were commissioned along with the up reception and up and down
Soham. Now the relay room is built I've been changing over the existing
circuits to the new relays located there. So far I've used 1500 metres of
0.75mm signalling grade single core wire and an endless quantity of wire
beads and crimps. I'm nearly finished the changeover and once that is
finished I can start to make progress getting the rest of it commissioned.
