Baker Street signal box
Baker Street signal box was opened by the Metropolitan Railway in 6th A|pril 1924. It was built to their Type 4 design and was fitted with a 39 lever Westinghouse 'K' frame (frame number 19). The box was closed in 11th June 1988.

We think this is the orignal 'B' Style lever frame in the photograph above, it is shown as a historical photograph, and it is interesting to compare the differences to the 'K' sytle frame below. The picture is taken from a railway journal presumably around the opening of the signal box in 1924.
bove is an original black and white photograph of Baker Street probably taken around the time the new lever frame was commisionef in the orignal signal box. The frame is a Westinghouse Style 'K' Power Frame and was mechanically interlocked between levers with electrical lever locking, The frame was formed of 2 x 12 way sections, plus 2 x 8 way sections, which making a total of 39 levers, {2x12}+{2x8)-1 = 39 levers, as the last “lever” space is unavailable. 12 levers levers worked the point, and 20 levers worked the signals with 7 other levers being provided.
