Morden - London Transport
Morden signal cabin on the south end of the Northern Line was was opened in 1926. It was fitted with a Westinghouse Style 'B' style miniature power lever frame. It was operational until 11th August 1962 when it operation was taken over by a an Interlocking Machine Room with a 24 lever 'V' style frame.

Owen writes 'One of my favorite signal boxes. With only three platforms it managed with help from the depot to keep to a 1½ minute service in the rush hour. Your hands never left your wrists but it felt like it.'

Records show that this was a 31 levers lever installation, with 9 points levers, 11 signals.

Looking North towards the cut and cover tunnels,the first daylight a driver sees for 17 miles.Not a terribly complicated track layout but the interlocking, well that was something else. An interesting layout.

Having got clearance to proceed into Morden Station from the Depot, I managed to rush this shot off.As you can see this was quite a slope into the station,hence the catch points on either side.The route here is set for platform 1.
