Hyde Park Corner was opened by the Great Northern, Piccadilly & Brompton Railway on 15 December 1906 fitted with an 11 lever B frame (frame number 68). The lever frame was increased to 23 levers on the 28th May 1933 following the commissioning Down Street sidings, at this time the lever frame was extensively re locked. The box was closed on the 12th May 1979.

Hyde Park Corner was mainly used to regulate the train service. The lever frame controlled Hyde Park Corner crossover and the reversing siding at Down Street disused station. The 4 drums visible were used to "punch up" each train's description (Westbound left - Eastbound right) to be displayed on station indicator boards and sent to the next signal cabin on the line.

The frame is a Westinghouse Style 'N' Power Frame and was mechanically interlocked between levers with electrical lever locking, The frame was formed of 2 x 12 way section which making a total of 23 levers, {2x12}-1 = 23 levers, as the last "lever" space is unavailable. 3 levers levers worked the points, and 11 levers worked the signals with 3 spare levers and 2 king levers (auto working levers, an LUL term for a box that is switched out is "Working in King") being provided.
