content header for Ealing Common
Ealing Common was opened by the Metropolitan District Railway fitted with a 16 lever mechanical frame which was taken out of use on 5th March 1925 and replaced by a 23 lever 'B' frame on 10th March 1925.

The box was closed on 5th November 1960.
Ealing Common
Interior of signal box at Ealing Common showing new mini- lever signal frame with staff member. Date and time of 5.20am etched onto neg. Part of a 4-day series recording the conversion of signalling and points to electricity. Unfortunatly the signal mans name is not known at this stage.
The frame is a Westinghouse Style 'B' Power Frame and was mechanically interlocked between levers with electrical lever locking, The frame was formed of 2 x 8 way sections, which making a total of 16 levers,
