Rayners Lane signal box was opened by London Transport in 1935. It was built to the London Transport Type design and was fitted with a 35 lever frame. Three switch panels were fitted, in 1975, in 1985, and the last in 1987. On of these panels, possibly the 1985 one, replaced the frame. |

| The 'N' Style lever frame at Rayners Lane is a Westinghouse Style 'N' Power Frame and was mechanically interlocked between levers with electrical lever locking, The frame was formed of 3 x 12 way section which making a total of 35 levers, {3x12}-1 = 35 levers, as the last “lever” space is unavailable. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| A push button panel was installed in 1st May 1960 to control Northholt IMR A second panel was installed and the box was re-named West Ruislip Temporary Control Centre on 9th December 1991. A third panel was installed on 3rd August 1992. The original push button panel replaced by a panel on 9th November 1992, and the frame was replaced by a panel on 18th January 1993. |
