Westinghouse miniature power lever frame - Harrow-on-the-Hill [LT] signal box

Harrow-on-the-Hill signal box was opened by London Transport in 1948. It was built to the London Transport Type design and was originally fitted with a 95 lever Westinghouse 'N' frame (frame number 190). A push button route setting panel was installed in 1962. The box is very much still open and with no plans that I am aware of to replace it probably the busiest frame box on LUL

Starting at the left hand end of the frame, this is a push - pull frame with route setting. These pictures are from the Stuart Johnson collection © who has kindly given permission for there use.

Middle section at the left hand end of the frame, this is a push - pull frame with route setting. The spare levers on the frame have an insert placed into the lever quadrant a common LUL practice I believe. The computer screen in the middle of the left hand part of the frame is an automatic train recorder to replace the old grade of apprentice acting as a booking boy. The right hand end is actually a N2 remote frame for Harrow North remote controlled from part of the left hand part of the frame, a very strange arrangement. Point indications with the red bit around the normal indication show that the points are fitted with point heaters.
